Pre-requisite: Students shall posses a valid registered dental assistant license or be in the process of obtaining their registered licensure, which requires passing a written and practical course in Radiology, Coronal polishing, and the state exam for registered Dental assistance.


Two Day class: 

Day 1 includes -
4 hours of Lecture 4 hours of simulated lab practice and one patient.
          
Day 2 includes-
4 hours of clinical practice and 2 patients.

Written exam-
You must receive a 70% to pass (25/35) miss no more 10 than questions.

In the Lab component-
You will receive a typodont to practice fulcrum techniques, polishing, applying the correct amount of agents and hand piece control. You must wear your personal protective gear always.

Clinical:

  • Each student needs three patients.
  • 2 patients must be used for clinical exam.
  • Each patient may not be missing more than 2 teeth per quadrant.
  • Fill out the evaluation form for each patient.
  • Each patient must have a current health history form filled out and be free from calculus and debris.
  • Each patient must have a consent form.
  • Vitals must be taken on all patients.
